Answer
A referral earns the referrer 10% of that member's eligible SB for as long as the referral stays active. There is no cap. Sending an invitation by itself does not earn SB.
When this applies
This fits when inviting someone, checking referral SB, looking for a name on the referral list, or inviting a person who already has an account.
What to do
- On the Swagbucks homepage, open Refer & Earn. The same page is at swagbucks.com/invite.
- Send an email invite, post the referral link, or copy the referral link shown on that page.
- The new member finishes registration from that link, in the same browser session, without opening Swagbucks from a bookmark, a search result, or an app store first.
- SB starts when that person joins through the referral link. An invitation that is only sent does not earn SB.
The referral link cannot be used for paid search ads, domain redirects, contextual tiles, pop-unders, link injections, or other direct-traffic manipulation.
What counts for the 10%
The 10% covers the referral's earnings from Shop, Search, Magic Receipts, Play, Answer, and Discover. That includes Daily Poll, Activities, Coupons, and Tasks. Earnings in the mobile app count too. The 10% continues while the referral is active, with no maximum.
These do not count: sign-up bonuses, Swag Codes, Daily Goal bonuses, MyGiftCardsPlus bonuses, and any referral bonus the referral earns. Other categories can be added to this list.
The 300 SB bonus
If the referral earns 300 SB before the 1st of the next month, the referrer and the referral each get a 300 SB bonus. Both bonuses are credited during the first week of the following month.
Swagbutton
Use the referral link from the invite page. If the referral installs Swagbutton, the referrer gets an extra 100 SB within 14 days.
If that didn't work
Open the referral list. A name is missing when registration was not finished in one session, the personal referral link was not used, the browser or device changed during signup, or the person already had an account. If tracking did not attach at signup, the name cannot be added later.
A person who already has a Swagbucks account cannot be placed on a referral list. A family member in the same home can be invited when each person has one account. Can each person in my home have their own account? explains that rule.
When to contact us
A name that never attached at signup cannot be added from the Help page. Use that page when a 300 SB bonus is still missing after the first week of the next month, or when the 10% does not match the eligible categories.
