How can I receive SB with an ad blocker installed?

Answer

An ad blocker can stop a shop visit, an offer, or a video from tracking. SB is recorded when the blocker is off for Swagbucks, or when Swagbucks is allowed through it.

When this applies

This fits when AdBlock, Adblock Plus, uBlock Origin, or another ad blocker is installed, including one that was added without a clear choice.

What to do

  1. Allow Swagbucks in the blocker before removing it. In Chrome, choose the AdBlock icon beside the menu, then Pause on this site. In Safari on a Mac, choose the icon to the left of the address bar, then Don’t run on this page. In another browser, choose the AdBlock icon at the top right, then Pause AdBlock.
  2. If pausing this site is not available, turn the extension off from the browser’s extensions page. Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin are on that same page.

Chrome

  1. Open the menu at the top right, the three vertical dots.
  2. Choose More tools, then Extensions.
  3. Turn AdBlock off. Choose Remove to delete it.

Safari on a Mac

  1. Open the Safari menu, then Settings or Preferences.
  2. Open Extensions.
  3. Uncheck AdBlock. Choose Uninstall to delete it.

Firefox

  1. Open Tools, then Add-ons. If Tools is not on the menu, open the application menu and choose Add-ons and themes.
  2. Open Extensions.
  3. Turn AdBlock off, or choose Remove.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open the menu, the three dots, then Extensions.
  2. Open the settings gear for AdBlock.
  3. Turn AdBlock off. Choose Uninstall to delete it.

Opera

  1. Open View, then Show extensions.
  2. Find AdBlock and choose Disable.
  3. To delete it, choose the cross at the top right of that extension.

If that didn't work

A phone browser often does not show the same extension page as the desktop browser. Pause Swagbucks on the device where the offer or the shop visit was started. A blocker that is still on can keep the click from appearing in the ledger. How does offer tracking work? explains that rule.

When to contact us
