An Amazon.com gift card uses two codes. The first is an 8-digit code on the redemption page. Pasting that code reveals the gift card code.
When this applies
This fits when an Amazon.com gift card link has arrived and the code still needs to be activated. A card that has not been emailed yet follows Where is the reward I ordered?
What to do
- Open the gift card link in the email.
- Copy the 8-digit code next to the button. On the page it is labeled Gift Card Code.
- Choose Amazon Code.
- Paste the 8-digit code on the next page. That activates the card and shows the gift card code.
If that didn't work
The first code is not the code Amazon accepts. The gift card code appears only after the 8-digit code is pasted. A screenshot of the error, and of both pages, is what support needs if the second code does not appear.
